If I Could Save GHz In a Bottle...
The real potential for energy markets to win more hearts and minds.
Dear Jim Croce (R.I.P),
You may be considered a poet laureate for the Boomer generation, but you are no physicist. You can’t just ‘save time in a bottle’. And if you could, we certainly would have squeezed a few more hits outta you, before you died in a plane crash at the tender age of 30.
But what you did, Mr. Croce, extremely well I might add, is you spun quite the yarn. Your thoughtful turn of phrase connected with millions of people, young and old, all over the world. You got people thinking. Appreciating their time, more. LIVING!
Now granted, “If I could save energy in a bottle,” doesn’t have the same ring to it, nor does it evoke feelings of nostalgia and existentialism, like ‘time’’ does. But we can save energy now, better than ever before, and that’s literally the next best thing.
In fact, rapidly developing technologies all over the world are allowing more and more energy to be stored in ever smaller bottles (or more precisely, in smaller hard metal shells).
There’s a remarkable story here. Power. Contained! At scale!
With these new innovations, the energy storage market is poised for massive global impact. That’s a song worth writing. That’s something we can all sing along to without it all sounding so hopeless.
While the rest of the world sprints soullessly, to win an A.I. race, the savviest (and wealthiest) futurists/investors are in the power storage game. These folks realize that A.I., and everything else in the world, is useless without the massive base loads of energy to carry them. The fate of world super-powers rests quite literally in which nation can harness the most power, fastest. And one sure way to get there is a clear, inspiring message.
That’s where you come in, Jim. May I call you Jim? None of these energy folks are very good at telling a story and inspiring millions. Not like you. Despite all the ground-breaking innovations, we stumble over the same jargon-y catch phrases as everyone else, confusing people, rather than making them think and feel.
These companies need an anthem. A rally cry. A reason to root for them
.
We need that perfect little hook. That Croce-esque, ear-worm that lives rent-free in your brain, all day and night, while simultaneously extolling the romance and wonder of Saving Energy in A Bottle.
Just catchier.
Thanks,
The People
This is excellent. Sets the tone perfectly for what needs to be done.
